This little post is about a very lovely place on Mill Ave: an Irish pub.
People may not know it, but our lovely author, Kyt, happens to be Irish. And not just Irish – very Irish. However, also doesn’t really like Saint Patrick – I mean, Naomh Pádraig – all that much. However, any excuse to be Irish is a good thing. So Bloomsday and St. Patrick’s Day are good enough.
The name of the pub is Rúla Búla (Mill Ave map). It is a perfectly wonderful Irish pub that brings a lot of various talent to Mill Avenue weekly and a little bit of the Irish spirit right into the very heart of Tempe. Some of our best musicians show up there, it's not a night club, and it's the only good venue remaining now that Long Wong's has been demolished, diminished, and faded to a dim echo of its previous light.
With Saint Patty’s Day upcoming, this is going to be a hopping spot on the Ave. The food is good, the people are fun, and often the music is indisputably glorious.
Rúla Búla, where the perfect pint is as genuine as the craic. |
