Mill Avenue Vexations Something Funny Happened at Matsuri by Kyt Dotson is available online for everyone to enjoy!
No kidding, I’ve been itching to put this one up for two days now. Mostly because this is one of the first presentations that I’ve been able to do with some extra artwork inside. It’s one of the lightest—smallest—booklets yet, being only 16 pages. Twelve pages of text, and four of manga.
Just check the previous news item for all the news about the artists involved.
Also, for those who don’t know it, the 25th Anniversary of the Arizona Matsuri Festival[/url] is taking place February 21st – 22nd, 2009 from 10:30am to 4:30am. It’s brilliant, it’s beautiful, and I’m going to be there at least one of the days being…well, me.
(Hopefully no giant tentacled monster will show to foul things up this time.)
Don’t miss out on Something Funny Happened at Matsuri. |

Wow! This one is so awesome.
Thanks for sharing it online.
If you want me to print it along with the color editions of the latest volumes, let me know and send me the printable PDF.
I'm working on the others and should have them done and posted next Monday.
I wanna say, I LOVE the Vex series. It's entertaining. It's serious, then whimsical. It's consistent in the "rules" for its world, and the characters breathe in the flesh. It's often hard to remember they aren't real people I am hearing about and haven't met yet. They act so human, and that's so awesome.
Mimicry being one of the most sincere forms of flattery - someday, I will learn to write like you. Well, with my own style, but so believable and so readably. Thanks for writing these and sharing them with us. |

I need to be more of a saleswoman, I think. It's hard to push people to help support Vexations but the costs are becoming prohibitive -- however, I am not letting this stop me. If I don't manage to make enough for the next set of covers I will just get cheap b&w and keep going.
My Amazon.com donation system died, so I just got something that feeds into Paypal but shows a graph of donations. Maybe I can pull some down to help pay for next year's covers. |
